Vedder is in the final episode. I am actually intrigued about what'll happen there.
I don't find the Pearl Jam references as heavy handed as I thought they might be and I agree with dime about the opening acts; we know that would never happen on a real tour but what a fun, Spinal Tap-py? Tap-pish? way of changing it up every episode.

I'm not disagreeing that it was a nice to mix things up musically, not sure John Mellancamp and Lindsay Buckingham really needed the exposure but the performances were cool. The whole device of introducing a new song each week felt a bit ham fisted. Like some 70's sitcom catch phrase. "Oh hey guys, looks like we lost another support band chuckle, chuckle".
But yeah not the end of the world, possibly could have been done a bit better.

The music and story line was good but I found the final cut quite disjointed (pie to the face - clean face and shirt - pied again) and the dialogue left something to be desired (sometimes felt as awkward as conversations at a real funeral.) Overall, tho I enjoyed the show and hope to see a second season. Any word on that?

The critics gave it a very divided review overall and the viewin figures weren't great.
I really hope they do a second season.

So cool that they dedicated an entire hour to commemorate a character that we spent about a total of forty minutes with over the course of the whole season. It's especially great because I never cared about that caricature in the first place. He was a jerk that it only seemed like people liked because other people told them to like him. Great episode!
not

Words cannot describe the depth of my hatred for that final episode.

I would say no. I really liked the first episode, but it was downhill from there. There were some major missteps and bad choices made throughout the season. Luke Wilson is great, but this show is not.

It's okay, probably only 4-5 good episodes in the season.

Yep... Shame, too. I really enjoyed it for a while...
Then Phil came back
The entire fucking finale was about him, too. Good god, this show tanked because of that, despite the otherwise wonderful casting and access to celebrity cameos. The finale was insufferable, and the Ed cameo was not worth fighting through it!
Love MotH, though

Fuzzcharger wrote:And the Pearl Jam references sucked the most. The whole sacked as Mike McCready's guitar tech thing was a bit lame. As was the revolving door of support bands thing. It was nice that they mixed up the musical guest, but there is no way any booking agency would be that incompetent. That annoyed the shit out of me.
The McCready angle was pretty funny, imo...
They should have had him in the finale to perform with Ed, and then hire Wes back or something.

Perfect. You should write for the show
