That would be cool, we currently have a VOB file for that one but would be good to comparematt reeder wrote:I will as soon as I can. I also have an actual digital source for the 1992 UK performance but it's from a DVD; do you need that, too? It's as good as it gets, I think.

If it's from the BBC performances DVD that was on Dime several years ago then it's the same source.ridleybradout wrote:That would be cool, we currently have a VOB file for that one but would be good to comparematt reeder wrote:I will as soon as I can. Both sources that we currently have are very lossy, so it might be worthwhile to check that DVD or perhaps just do a new extraction if it's the same source.matt reeder wrote:If it's from the BBC performances DVD that was on Dime several years ago then it's the same source.ridleybradout wrote:That would be cool, we currently have a VOB file for that one but would be good to comparematt reeder wrote:I will as soon as I can. Good work!
Wish I could help, but I *had* the same sources of mostly of you.
And my PJ hard drive crashed three days ago. I'm so
Well, hope to get this project soon.

Unfortunately these versions aren't as good as the current front-runners, but thanks anyway.
We're just about there now folks, should be too much longer

Are you pretty much good on everything? Were there still any original sources you might still be looking for?ridleybradout wrote:We're just about there now folks, should be too much longer
I posted my list of stuff here. (I haven't converted anything - it sounded like you all might be good on this.)

Thanks for chasing this up - we're pretty good on everything now but would very much welcome fresh VHS transfers of any of these, as the versions we have do have scope for improvement:UglyRedHonda wrote:Are you pretty much good on everything? The EV appearance on Letterman from 1996 would make great filler if there is room. I don't have a decent copy, but had it on a 3rd or 4th gen mono VHS back before we heard of youtube.

This sounds rad. I certainly appreciate the work you guys do on these comps. Certainly fills a gap with my need for good PJ content in between albums, tours etc

Re: PJ TV Performances Compilation (help needed!)
I know I'm too late for anything other than archival purposes, but I was finally able to transfer those videos. (This summer has been fucking brutal.) Here's all but Singles Scene. These versions are trimmed and normalized for YouTube, but I still have the master files.
1992 MTV VMAs - this is from the live broadcast. (24-year-old VHS playing through a 24-year-old VCR.)
1993 MTV VMAs - also from the live broadcast, hence the questionable audio mix.
Letterman '96 - just "Hail Hail". I have a copy of the original broadcast (which I can't seem to find at the moment), but I accidentally discovered last night that I had a superior copy from a 1997 rebroadcast. (I've transferred the '96 tape before - just need to track down the master files.)

Awesome audio on Hail Hail. Now you can REALLY hear how bad stone fucks up in the last chorus. Hilarious.

Thanks heaps - these are really great!
You're not too late at all - remastering has been delayed so all good though we would probably revisit for these anyway
Any chance you could please upload the pre-youtube masters for us?
