Apparently during the breakdown. If you know the song then it should be okay as a drummer to do this.

I've done something similar a couple of times. Once the guitarist and bass player kept fucking up and evn though they planned to overdub they would yell stop, re-record etc. I got fed up and just ploughed through the song with one of them hurling abuse at me while doing so. It ended up being the take we used. A second time was similar but the singer continued to give me cues. It's not ideal but if it gets the job done. In Matt's case, Jeff was locking into his beat.
