But if you like it, and the lineup is interesting, go for it!
jesus I can't type today....
The main reason I get enjoyment w/out luxuries for a week is because I'm sober the entire weekend. Those who indulge in anything, and everything, I don't know how they do it.
You mean you do those sober?!
More power to ya.
Sheesh.

Yep, last year i think we actually had 2 beers each which im pretty sure was 2 more then the year before
Its usually way too hot to have the urge to drink, lots of water and an occasional lemonade was how we did it. And it is too much fun to get to the point of not being able to remember it

Salut!
I don't know how else I'd get through one of those weekends without inhaling at least a cubic pound of smoke. The heavier stuff was never really for me, at least during the day.
Talking about that funny dirt they use at those places. I remember wandering around extremely wasted one night and overheard some one say, "maaaan, this ground was made for trippin". And it totally was. It had this like springy bouncy feel to it, really odd.
The last festival I did was Langarado down in the Everglades. It was strange. The music was atrocious. Lots of bands trying to do the whole techno with a band thing. After 36 hours, I longed for a power chord.
Since then, I've said no mas.

Two on that list I've never heard of. You're in Texas I take it
Psychfest is a festival that The Black Angels help create many years ago. This years festival lineup includes BRMC and Black Mountain, so I have to go.
i'd love to do psychfest, especially now with camping. this year's lineup is incredible. alas...
i will be doing bonnaroo #8 this year. it's my heaven.

Yeah, I get hangovers after two beers anymore. My blood sugar gets way jacked up when I drink, so I avoid it at events like this.
I hate to say I love you,
But oh goddamn I love you,
You know I do.

I hope you enjoy the Roo this year - Lineup drops tomorrow! We're hoping to make 2013 our third, I'm really addicted.
I hate to say I love you,
But oh goddamn I love you,
You know I do.
Doc and I were just talking about this earlier, and it's kind of a long story.
Short version, for me anyway, the Flaming Lips and Bjork. Flaming Lips are rumored, and Bjork is more or less confirmed from what I keep reading on inforoo.com. Jim James is also confirmed, so that's a win for Doc. Other bands we'd love to see - Alabama Shakes (although they were at Roo last year), Dr. Dog (already know they won't be there, but we're keeping our fingers crossed) and another two other rumors, Paul McCartney and Tom Petty. I honestly don't care who's playing, I just want to be there because it's a great way to spend a weekend and discover new music

I honestly have no idea what I want or expect at this years ACL. Its always one of the last festival lineups announced, so watching other lineups roll out give me an idea.

Have you noticed there's a lot of bands that just bounce around to all the festivals? I'm noticing it more so this year vs previous years. Maybe I just wasn't paying much attention before, not sure, could be that I'm just more aware and checking everything out this year.
How many years have you gone to ACL? There has to be someone you are hoping for!?

Heartless bastards, shovels and rope, father john misty, devil whale and thao and the get down stay down would be some good ones also
Yeah, these days I really need to know I'll be going back to my own bed at the end of the night. Those three-day hedonistic campouts were always more about doing a lot of drugs and having public sex, to me.

Those two things are always the last on my to do list
We did have some pretty entertaining kids camping next to us last year. Some guy was walking around selling just about everything. They ended up buying molly, shrooms, pot and coke. Doc and I just sat around camp laughing at their comments all weekend

Of all the years you've gone, was last year the most mild as far as weather goes? It got damn chilly at night, wasn't expecting that.
Anyone you are hoping for?
