I agree. But I think that were I raised in a cave, and had never heard of bands, that upon being explained of the concept and handed an early Metallica album, I'd expect the band to sound very much like what they actually sound like.

Haha well I guess if we're judging band names based on aesthetic accuracy then that makes sense.

And that seems pretty limited. Does One sound like it should be performed by a band called Metallica? What about that country ballad they did?

Come on Durden, that country song is anomaly to their catalog.

Obviously. And that's exactly my point. If what you like about a band's name or your primary measuring stick for it's value is that its a great advertisement for their music, then you're limiting the band and your own potential enjoyment.

I always liked the idea of having a band that changed its name with every album they released but kept the album title the same.
