Re: 2016 Rimmy Awards: Top 5 albums of 2016
This thread's reminded me I haven't heard the Pixies, RHCP or Tribe Called Quest records yet.
As others have said, I often end up discovering a bunch of stuff I'd missed through end-of-year lists, so I'll probably post an updated list at some stage.

Re: 2016 Rimmy Awards: Top 5 albums of 2016
I have lots to still listen to but for now this will do as a reasonable approximation:
1. Camp Cope - Camp Cope

2. Frederico Albanese - The Blue Hour

3. Black Mountain - IV

4. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Skeleton Tree

5. Elizabeth Cook - Exodus of Venus

5 Other Good Ones
King Gizard and the Wizard Lizard - Nonagon Infinity
Scott & Charlene's Wedding - Mid Thirties Singles Scene
Psychic Ills - Inner Journey Out
Xenia Rubinos - Black Terry Cat
Nels Cline - Lovers
Been a pretty good music year for mine.

Re: 2016 Rimmy Awards: Top 5 albums of 2016
This has been a bit of an odd year in my music listening. There's a decent amount of stuff that I've enjoyed, but nothing that I was as enthusiastic about in comparison to the past few years. That said, here's a list of albums and EPs that I've gotten some measure of enjoyment from.

Deakin - Sleep Cycle
Off World - 1
Seamus Cater - The Three Things You Can Hear
The Dwarfs of East Agouza - Bes

Tortoise - The Catastrophist
Mogwai - Atomic
