Ah. My mistake. I did not know there was a self-titled debut. My apologies. I have not listened to that. I own, have listened to, and enjoy Rated R and Songs for the Deaf.LoathedVermin72 wrote:So you quit right before SFTD?! Big mistake.durdencommatyler wrote:We still talking about QotSA? I bought Rated R on a whim. Saw it at the store and thought... yeah, I'll give this a go. Never heard of the band before. Never heard a song by them before. Knew nothing of Josh Homme. I thought it was a joke band. I enjoy the album but it's humor jumped out at me first. I really thought the were like a talented Ugly Kid Joe. Kinda wrote off the record and put it away.chewm wrote:I really dont like what Ive heard of QOTSA.

I'm a sucker for the big drums with the shaker or whatever it is in the background. I could listen to that on a loop all day.tragabigzanda wrote:Sorry tcms, I actually hate that song, and most of the stuff from that era. They were going for big drums and started using more samples. I much preferred the smaller, relatively stripped-down approach of those first two records.guestT wrote:counterpoint:tragabigzanda wrote:You're not missing anything vital.durdencommatyler wrote:We still talking about QotSA? But then I would have never heard No One Knows. And boy oh boy! do I love that little ditty.tragabigzanda wrote:Oh, this changes everything. I think the self-titled debut (a Loosegroove release!) and Rated R are the only ones you need to hear.durdencommatyler wrote:Ah. My mistake. I did not know there was a self-titled debut. Then I quit.
what it actually is:Imagined I'd be your one and only
Instead I'm the only one
You, me, and a lie
Silence is closer
We're passing ships in the night
What I originally heard was "one and only" is love, but "only one" is she settled for him and that's the lie. I guess they both are about the same, and I still sing what I heard vs. what it's supposed to be.Imagine I'd be your one and only
Instead I'm the lonely one
You, me, and a lie
Silence is closer
We're passing ships in the night
Sounds even betterdurdencommatyler wrote:Yeah, Strat, that was actually super awesome. Does the album track sound that good?
I've agreed with everything you've posted in this thread. But, I'd put Misfit Love at the top of that album's list.Strat wrote:Make it Wit Chu and sick, sick, sick, suture up your future are all great
