How about ten mini tournaments of each album plus their bsides and outtakes. Then we take each ten winners, ignore Backspacer and Lightning Bolt and have a final eight.
Or just forget the whole mess and vote on the final four being Last Exit, BoJ, In My Tree and Nothing As It Seems.

I also wouldn't hate taking covers completely out of this.
Or doing a separate covers tournament with only the final four (or possibly elite 8) advancing into the full March Madness tournament.
