Yeah I think 6 or 8 would be better

Maybe we can also have a Springsteeniest Springsteen lyrics tournament.
I nominate:
I work five days a week girl
Loading crates down on the dock
I take my hard earned money
And meet my girl down on the block

I don't know that much Springsteen, but I'm in. I've also been debating on picking up a few of his shows on livedownloads.com lately. He's got a lot of songs that I really love. I picked up The Seeger Sessions a few years back and want to dive back into that as well. I think I'll pick up Nebraska next.

Isn't that a Bon Jovi song?

You know I say I'm not much of a fan but I'm finding it awfully hard to fit all the songs I like on one disc and I'm just doing stuff from '75 to '84....maybe I like this guy more than I thought.

By my count he's got 8 great records:
The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle
Born to Run
Darkness on the Edge of Town
The River
Nebraska
Born in the USA
Tunnel of Love
Magic
The Rising is very good, even great at times, but overstuffed.
Wrecking Ball is a nice little record, especially for so late in his career.
The Seeger Sessions is a lot of fun.
His debut has nice moments.
I'm not a Tom Joad or Devils and Dust guy.
Plenty to draft from, friends.

Greetings from Asbury Park is better than at least half of those.

I really like the version of "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City" on the Hammersmith Odeon album.

We have twelve now but I'll hold it open for another day to see if four more opt in. We can reduce it to 6-8 rounds if that's the general agreement. I know that there is enough material for ten rounds though.

There definitely is enough material, but ten rounds seems like overkill. I think the draft will become a chore at that length, but more importantly, voting will be overwhelming, especially for people who need to go listen to songs they haven't heard before. I think six would be ideal.

I just listened to Magic in anticipation for this thing.
Excellent stuff.

I would like to participate in this, but I am missing so much Bruce in my collection. I'm listening to the Seeger Sessions now on Spotify but that is just the tip of the iceberg.
All I have in my collection is:
The Wild, The Innocent & the E St Shuffle
Born To Run
Darkness On The Edge Of Town
Born In The USA
Of those, I like 'Born In The USA' best.
I'm thinking of getting 'The River' and 'Tracks' next. Does that sound like a good plan RM?

I'd go for Magic, Greetings and The River. Tracks has some gems and some throwaways.

Those are good choices. Tracks is great but might be a bit overwhelming at this point. I would maybe think about Nebraska, Lucky Town (personal fav), or Magic. Can't really go wrong though.

Thanks for the feedback. 'Tracks' does sound overwhelming... 66 songs will take me forever to fully go through / catch everything / comprehend. That plus a double album 'The River' does sound like I'm biting off more than I can chew. I think I'll just get 'The River', let that sink in, then move on to the next.

I'll set this thing up tomorrow ( I need sleep now).
We have 13 so we'll need a three way at some stage. We talk about that stuff later though.
