This is just a little tournament inside the big one. Funny that there are songs here that many would consider better than both finalists in the main tournament, and these lost in round one and two.

Well, the CC tournament has been fun for me for a couple of reasons. I wasn't deeply familiar with a significant amount of his material, so I heard a lot of songs for the first time. I had never heard Girl U Want before. That song is fucking sweet. Also, tournaments get me to listen to material I haven't heard in years. I hadn't listened through Superunknown in at least a decade and I rediscovered some songs that I had completely forgotten. Like Suicide & Fresh Tendrils blew my socks off after not hearing either of them in forever. I'm kinda obsessed with those three songs right now. I'm listening to more Soundgarden than ever, and really enjoying it. All because of this tournament.
And every time I feel burned out on music a tournament can draw me back in.
