this will be easier if you just admit I'm right, don't make me prove that I have the gift of foresight by telling you your fate

I like Norm MacDonald as much anyone but I just can't see him being a full time late night host.

I like Norm a lot but I agree that a talk show host gig would not be the best showcase of his talents.

Craig Ferguson to Be Replaced by James Corden as Host of ‘Late Late Show’ (Exclusive)

The CBS show airs after David Letterman's show

James Corden is taking over for Craig Ferguson as host of “The Late Late Show” on CBS, an individual with knowledge of the situation has told TheWrap.

A representative for Corden did not immediately respond to requests for comment, while CBS couldn't confirm at this time.

Corden stars in Disney's “Into the Woods” and can currently be seen alongside Keira Knightley in “Begin Again.” He also played Paul Potts in the Weinstein Company's “One Chance.” He's represented by CAA.

Ferguson, who's hosted “The Late Late Show” since 2005, announced that he would be departing the series in April, noting that he'd exit at “the end of this year.”

The host was vague about his future plans, saying “and then I'll do something else .. Probably, I'm thinking, carpentry.”

Ferguson's decision to exit the series came after “Late Show” host David Letterman‘s announcement that he would be retiring.

More to come…

Apparently he's English, so I'm sure it will be great.

He's hilarious. Super talented guy. Won a Tony a couple years ago for his work in One Man, Two Guvnors.

wtf, him? I first saw him in Lesbian Vampire Killers and it was...well, not great. That said, I do want to see him in One Chance, that looks pretty good.

He was the best there ever was.

But seriously, this show was the perfect venue for his brand of comedy. I can't imagine him doing better.

The ending was perfect, loved the final surprise twist.

Though I'm kind of excited to see the guest hosted shows starting next month.
CBS has announced a motley lineup of comedians (and John Mayer) to guest host The Late Late Show in the interim period between Craig Ferguson’s departure and James Corden’s takeover.

Drew Carey will host the first and final weeks of these shows spanning between Jan. 5 and Jan. 9 and March 2 and March 6. Other people stepping in include Judd Apatow, Will Arnett, Wayne Brady, Jim Gaffigan, Billy Gardell, Sean Hayes, Thomas Lennon, Kunal Nayyar, and, yes, John Mayer. That John Mayer.

The announced guest hosts are pretty homogenous—read: all men—meaning for now the gender demographics of late night aren’t changing even on a temporary basis. A late night edition of The Talk, however, will air during The Late Late Show time period Jan. 12 through Jan. 16.

Ferguson leaves in December, and Corden will debut March 9, 2015.

Update: According to a source, CBS has plans to announce more hosts and are reaching out to women, adding that the network had already reached out to women who were unavailable.

I have watched every episode of this show for years and love it to pieces, but I must admit I was underwhelmed by the finale. I was really hoping they would lay on the sentimentality, which they didn't. And I can't stand Jay Leno.

I find it hard to believe that anyone likes Jay Leno.
