I doubt you could find Venezuela on a map so I'm hardly shocked you don't comprehend Venezuelan macroeconomics.

Most of Josh's posts have a distinct head-stuck-in-a-microwave flavor to them, but I think it's safe to say that international relations ranks near the bottom of his competencies.

Nice to see you're out of that very public manic period you had going on a few weeks ago.

The meme very transparently (and very obviously to anyone with more than a passing familiarity with the region's history) omits the context and causes of what led to Venezuela's downfall, as well as (weirdly) some of Castro-Chavismo's most egregious failings, in order to paint a dumbshit "progressive policies are bad" picture that Boomers and aging Gen X-ers can plaster all over their Facebooks. On a personal note, it irks me because it (very incompetently) mines a real and tragic humanitarian crisis that has affected friends and family for cheap political points, contorting it past recognition to draw parallels where there are none. We see a lot of deeply idiotic shit in this thread but goddamn.

You have to put quotes around it if you're going to do the meme.
