The meme very transparently (and very obviously to anyone with more than a passing familiarity with the region's history) omits the context and causes of what led to Venezuela's downfall, as well as (weirdly) some of Castro-Chavismo's most egregious failings, in order to paint a dumbshit "progressive policies are bad" picture that Boomers and aging Gen X-ers can plaster all over their Facebooks.
