Trump's presidency is based on making rednecks feel safe in his strong arms. He has to lie to them in these situations, and will continue to. The fake tough guys in the rust belt will eat it up.

It should be obvious to everyone by now if he hadn’t inherited millions trump would be another pushy mattress salesman, but yeah, when you are nothing but a cloud of smoke then nothing sticks.

It isn’t just Trump in this case, though. Rural clinics, as businesses, have become more or less financially insolvent over the last decade, and the ACA includes specific provisions to help prop them up. 80% of rural clinic closings in the last 5 years have been in states where Republicans blocked Medicare expansion.

They’ve created healthcare deserts. Vast spaces where people have little or no immediate healthcare access, or where the facilities that do exist would get overrun by a family of five, if they were sick enough.

And with an election coming up

And a virus that so far is killing older people with pre existing conditions.


Maybe trump will lose after all.

It makes all the sense in the world if the only thing you care about protecting is the market, and also you only ever think about life in terms of right here and right now.
