My ears are always drawn to that bass lick Jeff is playing in the choruses under the "who ever said it's all been said" vocal.

reading the interview w the producer, it wasnt deliberate to make a weird song structure, it just kinda happened.

I'll rephrase: not caring about shoving songs into pre-written structures, doing "what sounds good"

the intro is a lot like the intro of the extended, jammy, versions of LBC they started playing a few years ago
and it's fantastic

The one where they went into Jumping Jack Flash. I agree with everything except it’s merely nice.

Another favorite lyric of mine (which I don't think has been highlighted yet), especially coupled with its delivery, is "A rubble of commandments from the road step aside, a rubble of commandments in the road step aside."

This song doesn't sound like a song they wanted to ensure would translate to a live setting, but instead a song they wanted to translate their live sound to a studio recording. And I think they succeeded.

This started as a 3 for me, now it's a 4. There's a lot of very cool shit going on here.

I love Ed's delivery in this song. He's been working on this very practiced and forced sounding (to me) vocal affectations for years now. This feels honest and raw. There are little breaths and grunts and catches in his voice that sound/feel authentic and decidedly unpracticed. Other than hitting the "w" in "WWWho Ever Said" with excess breath. Everything else sounds unpolished and live. Very cool.

When
Living forward in a backwards town / I feed 'em drinks just to watch 'em drown hits...
