How did "stuffins" come into existence for Vs.? Is it just a session name the band used to "stuff in" a recording session before a tour or travel?

I ask because before all this Vs. stuff there was a tape called the "Stuffins Sessions" and it was early '91 that had the version of SOLAT that appeared on the Ten Redux, plus two other songs. I was told it was a session right before they left for somewhere else.
