Trombone Shorty has his new album out today. I am enjoying it. Probably his best since For True, but I also enjoyed Parking Lot Symphony - but it’s been something like 5 years. His live show is really outstanding, and his albums pretty uneven, but this one so far is quite solid.

i am very susceptible to quick changes in my music listening journeys. recently, I've gone from wilco to neil young to this morning, listening to some dude named MJ Lenderman. he's in a band from Asheville, NC called Wednesday. anyway, he's got some EPs and a new solo album called Boat Songs, which sounds heavily influenced by 90s alt-rock.
Over the last week or so, post-classical chamber rock outfit Esmerine has been teasing something on their Facebook, which seemed likely to be a new album, since it's been close to five years since their last. Today is once again Bandcamp Friday, and a surprise full album drop has occurred for Everything Was Forever Until It Was No More with physical editions releasing on August 26. As usual it's on Constellation, obtainable from the label site, Bandcamp, or a local record shop.
