Also, I didn't list him, but the Bucs had Steve Spurrier as a QB also.

Let this be an official statement I will stick by. Someone notarize this post.

If, at the end of the season, Tampa ends with one of the top picks, I will cease to be a fan if the following happens:

They draft Jameis Winston.

I, being of sound mind, do swear to uphold this declaration as stated above.

Can't you guys bond over Erik Kramer? Didn't he take both of your teams to the playoffs?

Hey Ruddo, what was Shaun King's deal? As an outsider it always felt like they gave up on him kinda quickly.

Yeah I liked him. They should have won that NFC championship game with him against the Rams. I think he was ousted when Gruden came in and went with Johnson.

King seemed to have the skills to succeed if he had ended up playing for the right QB coach/Offensive coordinator. He was hardly a failure in the two seasons he did start.

Got to love message board declarations. The self-importance of it all is beautiful. Oh and no one will care.

Actually, I made this declaration to my family as well. Maybe I just have LV disease and am getting sick of football in general.

And spare me the lecture of a "true fan would do this" crap. I was a Buccaneers fan through the 80's and 90's.

I'm always baffled by people's inability to compartmentalize. Jameis Winston is a good QB. He is also likely a shitty human being. FSU fans act like he's their son or something, it's bizarre. He could have wound up at 10 other schools and they wouldn't give a shit about him.

Plus, it's not like FSU is lacking of legends or anything.

For me it is just about the attention. Fair or unfair, the QB's coming out of college with all that extra off-the-field attention haven't worked out too well lately. (Tebow, Manziel, etc.)

I'm not so sure I'd like the Bucs to draft Mariotta either, but only because I'm more of a traditional "pocket" QB guy. Especially when you have Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans to throw to.

Sometimes you have to work with what the draft gives you, though. Good coaches will win with the talent they have available to them.
