That's too bad about Getaway, and after hearing it, it is awful live. I never truly understood the effect of toned/tuned down playing until listening to Getaway live...

In what ways does it suck? I haven't listened to any shows yet.
eddie's shakin and squeakin all over the place. even from the start on pendulum he's very shaky. waiting for the man is good though.

hard to imagine is a fuckin great version though, until eddie ruins it at the end by going for that higher vocal for some reason.

There are other examples of them downtuning too low and it fails miserably. "Habit" from the Philly '09 shows comes to mind. It doesn't even sound like the same song. To make matters worse, certain band members who have forgotten how to play the song end up playing a couple of frets higher so that it "sounds correct". So you've got half of the band playing it in one key and the other half playing it another key, and it just sounds like sonic diarrhea.

Yeah, wtf? It's been, what, over 3 weeks since they released Hartford/Baltimore?
Particularly when Nugs/LiveDownloads had all three for sale for a few days already (before 10C told them to take them down).
They've been on torrent sites for two weeks now, it's mind-boggling.
Jesus christ, still!

This entire delay is caused from Nugs backlog as a result of their week long vacation. Nice knowing you, Nugs. Kufala was superior. I hope there's a competing competant company to switch to. The community bashed Basecamp relentlessly, but isn't bashing Nugs enough IMHO. Some people's Philly boots haven't shipped yet. It's been almost a month. They don't return emails. You can't call them. And they are pointing the finger at PJ when you question them. And they don't even use TY discs (Kufala did). RIP Brady.

Fuck, Baltimore really does suck. There are a few gems tucked away like "I'm Waiting For My Man" and "Man Of The Hour", but outside of that, this is a terrible boot. Do not buy unless you were there and just want to have it. Or you are one of those people who buy all the shows.
Ed's voice is a fucking joke at this show. It's gravelly, it's shaky, and it's squeaky. His voice also sounds thin and airy. What happened to that beautiful baritone? It's amazing how much worse he sounds compared to the awesomeness of the 2003 Japan Compilation. That is seriously some of the best PJ I've ever heard, and Baltimore just may be the worst boot I've ever heard. Blah.
Back to Ed's voice, seriously, it just pisses me off at this point. "The" sounds like "Dwa". "Up" sounds like "Wup". Mind Your Manners is a disaster live. Jesus, Ed just can't pull that song off.
Based on the Baltimore boot, I will not be buying any more, and hopefully spenno puts together a kick ass compilation that helps redeem my faith in this band.

Mind you manners is a mess yeah..its too fucking fast. It started allright and after a few shows is just like they want to get rid of that song.

Really? I've heard almost every version and I think they were performing it better by the end of the tour than they were at the beginning.

Nope, the last boots i heard, Charlotte i think it was...it was ridiculous how fast they were playing it. Its impossible for Ed to sing it properly.

the problem with Ed's voice is that he needs like 10-15 shows before it warms up and they just don't do long tours anymore. Which has made his chick squeak sound worse as he gets older. I really hate the squeak on wash at the end, it drives me nuts.

Just listened to a crappy quality recording of this from pearljambootlegs.org. You're right, it sounded pretty good aside from the crappy audio quality.

agreed. got this show as a free download today for doing a gathr pj20 screening while in san diego, and listened to it this afternoon. it was tough listening. he does say early he's having vocal trouble, but still. lukin is comical because he can't sing it AND can't remember the words so he just AHSABADA JABADADDA HAVAMATTA DOSONATTA's most of the song.
the boot itself sounds pretty good. a far cry from 2008.
