Was that ever available in FLAC?
If so, I want.

isn't education attached to that, or is the different version from that scrapped lost dogs?WtOB? wrote:Yeah, I don't really remember where it came from but it leaked on the net a couple of years ago. It just has some rawer-mixed versions of Breakerfall, Light Years, Insig and NAIS. The latter two were included on the single release of NAIS. I'm not sure if they are original Tchad mixes or just rough mixes though.Rangi Guy wrote:WtOB? wrote:Yeah, I always prim Parting Ways and pop Writer's Block after Education.
I also like replacing Breakerfall with Break Her Fall from that 4-song binaural preview sampler where the mix is a lot rawer and even has Matt's hi-hat count at the start and popping in NAIS and Insig from the single mix. Things get a little moar Tchad that way.
4-song binaural preview sampler???
That's from the scrapped Lost Dogs but that one's mixed differently too.stip wrote:isn't education attached to that, or is the different version from that scrapped lost dogs?WtOB? wrote:Yeah, I don't really remember where it came from but it leaked on the net a couple of years ago. Agreed...Thats prob my favorite Mike Solo of all time, at least studio solo....durdencommatyler wrote:Amen.iceagecoming wrote:I'd love it if Anything In Between ever amounted to anything. The music is great, it's just crying out for a stronger vocal melody and lyric.

Oh you should.stip wrote:i gave bayleaf a listen a few months ago and it really didn't make much of an impression. DcT is making me think I need to try a bit harder
I really, really love Binaural. It's always in my top 4 PJ albums and I agree completely with your opinion. Man this album could have been so much better than it already is!melonhead4 wrote:The Breakerfall demo, most likely Tchad Blake's is wayy better than the album version IMO....I cant wait until they reissue this album..hopefully we get to hear all the songs recorded binaurally.......I wish PJ would give Tchad another chance, hes an amazing producer or even a guy like Andy Wallace....I love BOB but thats been done before...
it wasn't the lyrics. I usually don't hone in on those for a few listens. I'll give it a shotdurdencommatyler wrote:Oh you should.stip wrote:i gave bayleaf a listen a few months ago and it really didn't make much of an impression. DcT is making me think I need to try a bit harder
The lyrics are abstract and wonky at times. That might be one of the reasons you're having a hard time connecting to it.
But I love the music. The vocal melodies are smooth and hooky. I love them. It's a really funky record. And Stone's voice is so unique and his imagery is a breath of fresh air (from the usual stuff I listen to, especially PJ).
I'd love your thoughts. I was thinking of starting a Let's Actually Listen to Bayleaf thread. I'm really feeling that album right now.stip wrote:it wasn't the lyrics.
