With my students, I'm reading Colson Whitehead's The Intuitionist for the third time. On my own, reading Eugenides's The Marriage Plot and a book on late-70s and early-80s America called Decade if Nightmares. Also, I might finally have a bead on a dissertation proposal.

About 10 pages to go in Swann's Way. Very tedious at times, but I'm glad I got through it. It'll be a while before I go back to Proust, though.

Anyone read this?

I think that's what I'll start reading next.

Started The Damned trilogy. So far it's alright but the subtext is what's keeping me going.

The Mothman Prophecies

What a strange puzzle. It's based on a true story of John Keel's investigation, but man some of those stories are truly out there. I haven't seen the movie with Richard Gere, but I can tell they butchered the hell out of the book.

I do not understand a world in which anybody has not seen every Richard Gere film.

Haven't been able to put it down. It's really good

Re-reading Personal Days by Ed Park, as I'm doing it with my students this week. Highly recommended.

I've just finished the whole Rivers of London series.
Excellent books!! Heartily recommend them.

Some of the stories are awesome, about half are ok, the rest are pretty meh.

Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. Been meaning to read it for years, finally started earlier this week.

This is available online in those ebook libraries for free and so far I heartily recommend it.
If only for the fact that people including members of his family, maintain Tesla was left on earth by an alien ship, as a child and was meant to make things better for us.
It's written by his grand-nephew and really moves at a fair clip. And the guy was genius beyond telling. Give it a go

Halfway through "Brothers Karamazov". Trying to make up for the fact that I'll probably never finish "Infinite Jest" because I just don't want to.

Anyway, I love Dostoyevsky. He just gets it.
