This. The Big 12 has to do this now. I told my co worker this week (K State fanatic) I could see this happening. Kinda sucks for them but 2 of the 3 (BYU, Colorado State and Boise) in the Big 12 makes a lot of sense.Green Habit wrote:Adding BYU and BSU would fix that easily.E.H. But you have no qualms with the Big 10/14 getting in?96583UP wrote:this is what TCU and Baylor get for being in a conference called the "Big 12" that consists of 10 teams
that's like telling everyone your nickname is "Big Steve" when your name is Frederick
you should be called "Big Fred"
or "Freddie"
or "Guy with the Megan's law issue"
otherwise you are just lying to yourselves
It really was a good game. I just wish GT would have pulled the upset.Electromatic wrote:This ACC championship is awesome!

re: The ACC in general, I think it's really good for the conference when GT is good, and especially when they beat UGA. I'll generally pull for them, unless they play Clemson. I also like that Duke is stepping up a bit. If VT and NC State could get their shit together, the ACC would be a solid football conference. But, as it's seen now, it's FSU and everyone else.

Yeah, at #15, I would have thought they would have gotten a better bowl, and yeah, Duke is dangerous. With that said, I've always kinda been fond of the Sun Bowl though. The stadium / surroundings there in El Paso look pretty cool.turned2black wrote:I think Arizona State got hosed. I thought they should have gone to the Holiday or at the very least the one at Levi's Stadium in San Fran. For them to get stuck in the Sun sucks. And this is exactly the kind of bowl they lose... a bowl they didn't want to be in against a deceptively good time.
Yeah, El Paso gets a bad rep because of its proximity to Jaurez, but it's actually a great city once you get past the fact that 50% of it looks like hell. That being said, the Sun Bowl has always been a relegation bowl and obviously ASU doesn't benefit from it being a warm weather destination.darth_vedder wrote:Yeah, at #15, I would have thought they would have gotten a better bowl, and yeah, Duke is dangerous. I'm pretty content with Mizzou's bowl game. We haven't played in a Florida bowl in ages. We will need a few more years to really evaluate the new bowl selection process but I feel like there are much better matchups in almost every bowl compared to years past. A few teams will get a bad hand but overall I am happy.darth_vedder wrote:So for those of you with teams not in the playoffs, but going to a bowl, are you happy with the bowl your team is going to?
I think Clemson should have been in a New Year's Day bowl, particularly the Citrus Bowl, but they landed in the Russell Athletic Bowl. I don't know much about it, but they are playing Oklahoma, so that's a pretty cool, old school match up.
For those Baylor, TCU, Mich St. fans out there, do you feel you got hosed? I'm hoping they decide to expand the playoffs to 8 teams, but for now, I guess 4 is better than none.
Without cheating I'm trying to remember the last time Mizzou played in a Florida bowl game. Dan Devine days? Warren Powers days maybe?Monkey_Driven wrote:I'm pretty content with Mizzou's bowl game.
