Adding BYU and BSU would fix that easily.
This. The Big 12 has to do this now. I told my co worker this week (K State fanatic) I could see this happening. Kinda sucks for them but 2 of the 3 (BYU, Colorado State and Boise) in the Big 12 makes a lot of sense.

My co worker's father in law donates a lot to the K State athletic and the talk in the Big 12 is they are not going to expand until they are left out of the college football playoff twice. Terrible logic if true and well, there is one.

this is what TCU and Baylor get for being in a conference called the "Big 12" that consists of 10 teams

that's like telling everyone your nickname is "Big Steve" when your name is Frederick

you should be called "Big Fred"

or "Freddie"

or "Guy with the Megan's law issue"

otherwise you are just lying to yourselves

But you have no qualms with the Big 10/14 getting in?

I have more of a problem with "One true Champions"

The more I think about it, though, not having a championship game could have easily worked in their favor. If just two of the four championship games this weekend would have went the other way, we would be talking about how the Big 12 has two teams in the final four.

Just heard the chair of the selection committee say on the radio that TCU and Baylor were without a doubt the next two in if any of the current four lost their championship games.

I'm looking forward to watching Ohio State lose by 6 TDs. The Big Ten is a fucking joke. TCU and Baylor are both miles better.

It really was a good game. I just wish GT would have pulled the upset.

re: The ACC in general, I think it's really good for the conference when GT is good, and especially when they beat UGA. I'll generally pull for them, unless they play Clemson. I also like that Duke is stepping up a bit. If VT and NC State could get their shit together, the ACC would be a solid football conference. But, as it's seen now, it's FSU and everyone else.

and Miami is still getting back on track. It just has taken them a little while to get better as a conference, and Justin Thomas is a dream QB for Paul Johnson. That kid is a winner.

I still think Watson is going to do really big things at Clemson, they were just reloading this year a bit.

Interesting points. I can still remember a time when Wake Forest won the ACC, after all.

It has been sort of an odd rebirth since expansion for that conference. It has always been a Basketball conference, but that lulled some, and football has improved, in part because the coaching has improved.

Wake had Jim Grobe then. Duke is extremely well coached, Clemson is solid, FSU is as good as it has been probably under Bowden, Golden is building at Miami, Louisville (yuck) but they are building. Georgia Tech when they have talent are a top 10 team. Va Tech when they have talent are a top 10 team.

I wonder how good the basketball will be this year.

So for those of you with teams not in the playoffs, but going to a bowl, are you happy with the bowl your team is going to?

I think Clemson should have been in a New Year's Day bowl, particularly the Citrus Bowl, but they landed in the Russell Athletic Bowl. I don't know much about it, but they are playing Oklahoma, so that's a pretty cool, old school match up.

For those Baylor, TCU, Mich St. fans out there, do you feel you got hosed? I'm hoping they decide to expand the playoffs to 8 teams, but for now, I guess 4 is better than none.

I think Arizona State got hosed. I thought they should have gone to the Holiday or at the very least the one at Levi's Stadium in San Fran. For them to get stuck in the Sun sucks. And this is exactly the kind of bowl they lose... a bowl they didn't want to be in against a deceptively good time.

Yeah, at #15, I would have thought they would have gotten a better bowl, and yeah, Duke is dangerous. With that said, I've always kinda been fond of the Sun Bowl though. The stadium / surroundings there in El Paso look pretty cool.

Yeah, El Paso gets a bad rep because of its proximity to Jaurez, but it's actually a great city once you get past the fact that 50% of it looks like hell. That being said, the Sun Bowl has always been a relegation bowl and obviously ASU doesn't benefit from it being a warm weather destination.

Wonder if the Big 10 will win any of its 10 bowl games?

I'm pretty content with Mizzou's bowl game. We haven't played in a Florida bowl in ages. We will need a few more years to really evaluate the new bowl selection process but I feel like there are much better matchups in almost every bowl compared to years past. A few teams will get a bad hand but overall I am happy.

Without cheating I'm trying to remember the last time Mizzou played in a Florida bowl game. Dan Devine days? Warren Powers days maybe?
