Theyre saving Fade for Portland...

Im glad they got back together, and i do still love NCTL, BUT, those new songs are still being flushed out live. Live, the older songs are all kicking SO much ass right now. Dig Me Out, Entertain, Jumpers, Words and Guitars, any of the older songs, almost feel like new songs, while some of the new songs, almost seem like old songs theyre tired of playing already? I was listening to an interview they did after the Milwaukee show (which had amazing crowd) and I really get the feeling theyre shocked at the out pouring of love theyre getting, and the positive reactions.

But yeah, those new songs, some of them seem like they have a lot of room to grow live? A New Wave's breakdown in the middle could be longer and totally rock, but theyre pretty much playing them straight by the numbers right now? maybe on this next leg of the tour theyll be a lil looser.

either way, its good having them back, there is no such thing as too much Janet Weiss in my life.

I was worried about that going into the shows this weekend at Terminal 5, both that the new songs would sound weak in comparison to the older stuff, and that the crowd wouldn't have latched on.

I could not have been further from the truth on both counts. People were flipping out at Surface Envy among some of the others, and they sounded excellent. Price Tag was one of the best openers to a show I've ever seen. The audience was more into the new stuff Friday then Thursday, but Thursday's audience was a bit dead.

And I don't see how it's possible that they tarnished their legacy by reforming. They've never been close to being as acclaimed as they are right now.

Acclaim =/= Quality

Sure, but you were saying they've tarnished their legacy. I would think the new album would have had to have been kind of a bomb for that to happen.

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I meant they tarnished their legacy in my mind. Like I said, I thought they were infallible before NCTL. S/T - The Woods is an unbelievable run of excellent records.
