Yeah, you're right about the atmosphere.
I'm just glad I like their most recent album again. Being a downer about the last one brought me no joy. I far prefer being hyped about Pixies!

They’re playing 3 new ones most gigs with 5-6 on headline shows.
Pretty keen to see them again.

Can’t believe they’re back next year and again are skipping Adelaide.
How were they on Monday Spenno?

I listened to their new album and really liked it. Not a band I really ever picked up but that’s bound to change.

It was a totally fine, competent performance of Pixies music but not thrilling or exciting in the least.
It's kind of how I feel about their post-reunion records.
The first time I saw them in 2007 was absolutely electric, just a fantastic show, here's a short clip:
The second time, in 2010 playing Doolittle and b-sides, was still great but the band felt a bit more checked out.
I think it's just a different band without Kim.

Kim left a long time ago. Im glad these guys are touring and making music. Saw them 3 times with Paz and i had a blast, specially the last time.
Also Beneath the Eyrie is one of my favs from all times from their. Really wonderful album and the extra songs they released after are all top notch.
