I'm sorry for wasting you and everyone else's time with this incredibly dorky conversation, Joey.

I wasn't gonna say anything, though. Because I knew what he meant and he seems to be having an off day.

So Lynch will often overlay images and action shots full of abstract symbols or earlier/future scenes on top of what's happening on screen during moments when his characters are having daydreams and flashbacks. You see it in that Phillip Jeffries sequence in FWWM, you sort of see it with the red room imagery above the slot machines this season, and there's definitely multiple moments when it happens to Cooper in the OS.

Anyway, that sort of thing happened to me in traffic today with my own thoughts and I went to a weird place. This is what we talk about when we talk about letting this show just happen.

This is hilarious.

Man, I really do wish we could have seen what a David Lynch Star Wars film would have been like.

Looks like I can watch the first two episodes on Hulu but I don't know if I want to since I have no idea when I'll get to watch the rest of them.

Saw this great quote. David Foster Wallace discussing Lynch on Charlie Rose:

"What the really great artists do is they are entirely themselves. They are entirely themselves. They've got their own vision, their own way of fracturing reality and that if it's authentic and true you will feel it in your nerve endings. And this is what Blue Velvet did for me. I'm not suggesting it would do it for any other viewer. But I all of a -- Lynch very much helped snap me out of a kind of adolescent delusion that I was in about what sort of avant garde art could be."

Yep. This is exactly the same "awakening" I had when I first encountered Lynch.

I wasn't looking for fan theories, but sure enough, I came across one last night anyway. Hadn't crossed my mind before.
Spoiler: show
The woman Albert and Gordon are looking for at the end of part 4 is Diane. This somehow is supposed to tie in with the chocolate bunny and Hawk's heritage. Hawk's lifelong knowledge of Lodge lore+Annie telling Laura to write about Cooper in her diary in FWWM+plus Cooper telling Diane about finding the diary and a chocolate bunny in the pilot.
