I don't know why anyone would even be bothered for a comparative but to each their own.
I bought Broken at a record convention as I never came across it and then The Downward Spiral at a used record shop. Seeing Lost Highway and The Perfect Drug getting airplay on MTV really got me going and I couldn't wait for The Day the World Went Away single, which of course I bought at the mall as soon as it was released. The VMA performance and then finally getting the album was something else, downloaded every Fragility 2.0 tour gig I could find.

As I just posted I have a fairly defined history with the works and I know some bit of revisionism can be quite embaced here at RM but that ain't my bag. Just listen to everything, there's time... if you get hit by a bus before the album ends your luck was shit anyway.

'The Fragile', 'The Wretched' and 'Where is Everybody?' are all incredible. I would cut 'Ripe' or 'The Mark...' if I had to.

The Wretched is one of the best Nine Inch Nails songs, what the fuck are you talking about?
The Fragile is a really great album, but the Deviations 1 or whatever the expanded instrumental version from a few years ago was called was really unnecessary.
