Agreed. His cover of One is also really good. It doesn’t lean on the chorus the way U2 does it, but really draws out those verses.

So Achtung is their best? I used to like a few songs off of Joshua Tree but I don't think I "get" Bono.

I'll try again one of these days.

I just revisited Joshua Tree. The fact that 'Where the Streets Have No Name', 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' and 'With or Without You' are not only on the same album, but the first three songs, is ridiculously impressive.

One Tree Hill still tears me up sometimes

This one is about their roadie who hailed from One Tree Hill in Auckland, right?

Admittedly, I had never heard the cover of One by Chris Cornell until I was in that ride, and I really liked it, even better than the Nothing Compares 2 U cover which is closer to the original than One. I just really enjoyed what he did with it vocally, which I thought was very different than Bono. (See I am bringing us back full circle and on topic).

IIRC there is a Bono/Cornell duet from the Achtung Baby sessions that is still in the vaults
