that reminds me of the time in college when I was working in a corn maze around halloween, and a 40 year old man showed up alone wearing a wizard costume
in the back of my mind, i knew i'd be like that guy one day

it was more exciting than what I'm doing now
I actually had a lot of fun with that...getting paid to scare people and such

If you want to come see it at the theater by my house, ill buy your ticket for you

I used to love it, too.
I hated going when I lived in NYC, mostly because of bed bugs. I would occasionally go to the IFC Center or the Angelika if there was something special playing, and our neighborhood theater in Cobble Hill was cozy and clean, but yea -- the AMC-type theaters in NYC are a real drag.
Cobble Hill Cinemas is a descent one.
The Angelika is fine except that everyone there is 150 years old and they yell through the whole goddamn movie because they can't understand it/hear it and/or don't like all the nudity.
BAM and Sunshine on Houston are the only two I can go to where I never have problems.

So the first week is OK to go..the weeks afterwards are when now casuals turn up and they're the ones you should avoid. Playing with their phones and being annoying generally.
We've developed an awful culture of that in cinemas here the past few years. People actually making and taking calls and not giving a single fuck about anyone else. It's so annoying.
I've never been at a movie where someone took a call.
It's pretty regular in NYC.
Lame.
Yeah, I've never seen that happen.

My wife actually got in a fight with a gentleman about taking a call during a movie. She was so pissed she stood up and walked to the row in front of the guy and just stood in front of him. When he yelled at her to move she said, "you're talking on the phone, you obviously don't care about the movie like the rest of us, so what difference does it make?" He called her some names. She stayed put and told him to take his phone call out of the theater and stop bothering the people who wanted to watch the movie.
My wife is a badass.

I shot up once he called her a "fucking bitch" but she told me to sit down and said she'd take care of it. She then shamed the man into leaving the theater, daring him to do something to her. He left, called a few more names and she told him to go fuck himself.
We watched the rest of the movie in peace. Several people thanked her after the movie was over. My heart was so proud.
