Have you seen Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? It's more George Roy Hill, Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

I have not, but that's going in the queue.
I have seen Slap Shot, and I see George Roy Hill directed that as well.

Love Slap Shot. The Great Waldo Pepper is also a good movie.

Paul Newman and Robert Redford is a combination that’s hard to beat.

There’s a great chapter on Waldo Pepper in William Goldsmith’s book

Double feature this Sunday: The Zone of Interest followed immediately by Ferrari.
Been a while since I watched two different movies back to back in the theater, and these seem pretty different from each other

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Scheduling would be my guess. Big J is a very busy man.

this feels so weird. How could you watch ZOI then immediately be like "ok, now time for a racing soap opera!"?
They are two movies I wanna watch and they happen to be playing one after the other at my favorite theater, so I bought tickets for both. It's been a while but I'm OK with the tonal whiplash, it used to happen a lot back when I would watch 4 movies in a single day at film festivals

Sisu. Damn, that was good. I wasn't thrilled with some of the digital filmmaking elements and the geography of the whole piece feels murky at best but it was visceral and very fun. Many of the action sequences and story beats made it feel like a low-budget Fury Road.

I recently watched Princess Bride and Spaceballs with my kids.
It was awesome.

Right on
When you say "digital filmmaking elements" do you mean visual effects, or more the cinematography of it?

"The Holdovers"
I love love love this movie; such authentic performances all round; loved how it's largely a series of vignettes, didn't seem too prescriptive
