The Dark Backward (1991)

Has anyone seen this? Wtf. I didn't watch all of it because it's not my thing (it's probably not anyone's thing), but it's surprisingly competent for a weird cult movie. Lots of name actors but the acting is terrible.

It's been a while, but I remember liking it well enough the first two times. I don't know exactly what I expect to be different this time, but I love PTA, Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix, so I want to love this movie. It feels like it should be a slam dunk.
