What do you guys think of today? Maybe Cristiano´s last? Portugal really hasnt shown anything as a team, so im counting on Spain winning.

Yeah should be fairly easy for Spain today.

Yeah good point. I've already forgotten that CR had a suspension put on hold right before the WC.Jorge wrote: Mon July 06, 2026 1:18 pm But also this kind of asterisk discourse happens all the time.

Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
england seem like a team of destiny. and it kills me to admit that.
if they win, it'll be like the boston red sox winning the world series in 2004 where their fans went from perpetually self loathing to in-your-face gloating as if it was their 20th world series in 30 years. there's no in between with english supporters either.

I have some experience cheering for an asterisk team, and let me tell you, it sucks. US is in a bad position if they win but if US fans are anything like Astros fans, they'll embrace the heel turn and stick with their team.
I think the only way out is for poch to sit him out and still get a win with Pepe, who has been training plays all weekend.

Do wonder if it will be the last WC for both CR and Messi.

Messi, Neymar, CR, Modric, I'm sure a few others that are well known over the last decade that this will be their last.

Have we considered the hilarity of Flo getting red carded early this match? Refs have a chance to spice it up even more.
