The first district in Colorado to go to a four day school week did so because they couldn’t get any more money, were lowest in the state for teacher pay, and couldn’t get any new teachers to come in. Other poor, rural districts were jealous of the results, but waited to try it out until parent satisfaction scores turned out to be through the roof.

They did this in Oklahoma a few years back, pitched it as a way to cut down on bussing costs but the end result was that a lot of teachers had to take side jobs. Major factor in the teacher strike in early 2018.

So Stacy Dash was arrested for domestic battery the other day. I've seen reports that she listed her race as "white" on the documents, but I imagine that most of those forms are completed by the arresting officer, right?

What? Allz I'm sayin' is that if Colorado can afford to provide financial aid to undocumented kids at the college level, it should be able to provide basically schooling to citizen's kids.

This is a good point because state-wide financial aid and local school board budgets are run out of the same source of funding.

Though if your point is that we need to raise taxes to provide better k-12 education then I absolutely agree with you.

Have you heard of TABOR? It's the Republican tax law that keeps Colorado government from fully benefiting from the robust economy. I got 31 dollars back last year because of that law. Every other Coloradan got about the same. That money could have gone to great use on roads and education.
