The German version of the SW9's title is "Der Aufstieg Skywalkers" which is more defining than the English version, for it states that it is the rise of only one person, not several or a group or a family.
I'm sure they cleared this with Lucasfilm.

Rey is Darth Vader's grandmother. This episode will introduce time travel.

Rumor
Spoiler: show
One crazy rumor was that Han Solo had an affair and Rey is the product of this affair. Begs the question: did the mother give her force powers or was she a midichlorian baby, since Han Solo is the least likely person to be passing on Force genes.

Spoiler: show
In this scenario, Leia and Han got drunk and had a quickie one night after they'd been apart for ages.. and due to their toxic tumultuous relationship, Leia chose to give her up for adoption

I just want to talk about the elephant in the room for a second.

If Matt Smith isn't in this movie, then fine. But if he is.... IF they're literally lying about it... I think that's weird. I'm not ready to say it's a "mistake" but it feels wrong to me. I don't want this to be Kahn all over again. There are ways to maintain surprises and keep spoilers to a minimum and also not flat out lie about shit.

The lying might actually be drawing more attention to it and causing people to speculate in way the wouldn't otherwise. Maybe NEEDING to keep the secret is actually revealing more than just being honest would have.

Anyway. I'm sure it's nothing that will make/break the movie for me. But I do think it's weird. At this point, I hope Matt Smith just isn't in the movie.

Okay. I'm done. We can go back to talking about dime now.

I've seen some of the discussion about Matt Smith, and some of the online blogs about it. It's only a big issue to the individual that makes it a big issue. And a lot of SW fandom sites like to pry and poke into everything SW, so it's bound to be talked about and discussed.

To me, who cares what is officially said or not said? I don't care if he's in it or not. I don't care if LFL/JJ want to be secretive or not. It's their film. There really is no responsibility on their part to provide any kind of information on the movie.

It's the same thing when actors talk about their films, or their roles in the film, or their director. You know they aren't going to say a film is bad or a director is bad. And they just talk fluff that really has nothing of substance. I disregard that stuff. The only time interviews are interesting is in hindsight.

Who cares if they’re lying about whether an actor is in the movie? What difference does it make?

My post.

It was supposed to be poking at super fandom and the general discourse that is going around right now all over the internet. I was trying to play on a couple of different things -- getting the focus off of dime for a second, fandom, YouTube/clickbait culture, Collider Jedi Council, etc -- but it seems like you guys took it really seriously. So, obviously, my tone was way off. I think dime would have thought it was funny because, like me, he listens to too many podcasts and reads too many dumb articles about Star Wars.

Like I though it was really funny that you guys were talking about dime being away and in the recent rash of RM bannings, I thought it was really funny to start with "let's talk about the elephant in the room" like maybe I was gonna talk about dime. But then it was this other silly, innocuous nonsensical thing about Matt Smith.

The fact that I'm explaining it now proves how brilliant it was and I definitely don't regret posting it.

OH!

And then the part of my response about tree was a reference to how he doesn't think I'm funny and that my sense of humor is weird.

I'm reminded of Matt Smith in that Terminator movie. It would be a hilarious thing for it to be that + STBeyond where it turns out that he's a clone of the Emperor.

I'm not sure if he's going to be a clone, or just younger, or maybe just a big ol fanboi who lets Palps posses him. But I'm 100% certain Smith will be connected to the Emperor in the movie.

My hope is, Sith Lord who is obsessed with Palpatine and allows him to posses him. I think that is bonkers and cool.
