Seven Samurai. What's there to say? I now understand why it's praised so much. Brilliant movie. It feels timeless, like a collection of Aesop's Fables.

Me and Jorge, or the film? I'll take either
Which one do you want to be?

The First Omen.

Enjoyed it. Great aesthetics, an earned retro vibe. Creepy with a competent and engaging visual language. Solid to great performances all around. Nice score.

I'm hanging out with my niece and nephew tonight. I think we'll watch Kindergarten Cop.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I think we’re all a little stymied
1999 was damn near my film pretention apex and I had no idea this thing existed. Not then. Not until about 2 minutes before I watched it. Unreal.

Part of me feels like I failed having not even heard of it until yesterday. But most of me is just fucking thrilled to pieces that I've seen! What a joy.
