I'm speculating, but I would imagine it's because House seats are by and large more 'base' elections; things are so polarized by partisanship and gerrymandered by legislatures that the biggest threat to GOP House reps would be from the right. Senators have statewide elections, which more often than not would require them to be more toward the middle.

It's getting harder to not believe the Liberal Left's conspiracy theories might be on to something.

Yes, this makes total sense. Also the House members are proportional to the state population, and don't have to include members from both parties, whereas there always just one Dem and one GOP senator. So for a House member to risk losing their base over the President could be way more risky.
