Probably not. Story wise, this one doesn’t have anything to do with those. It’s set like 300 years after them and other than a mention of one of the characters, it’s pretty much its own thing.

I do recommend watching those three tho.

Probably not. Story wise, this one doesn’t have anything to do with those. It’s set like 300 years after them and other than a mention of one of the characters, it’s pretty much its own thing.

Really awesome movies with tons of emotional depth. Disappointing to hear this new one is its own thing but saves me the $30 movie date.

This was my second time watching it and I had a great time. It's just wall to wall insanity. Great stunts, costumes and set design. I watched it on 4k Blu-ray too and it looked pretty spectacular.

This was an entertaining watch. A very authentic circus melodrama. Burt Lancaster really is amazing. You could see that it was really him up there most of the time doing his own stunts.

Nice. I've only seen it when it was in the theater. Started to re-watch a few times but didn't pull the trigger.

Throwing on Clue

Just watched Robert Altman's TV adaptation of The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. Jesus Christ I love Altman so much, oh my god. Honestly I think the '80s were my favorite period of his; all these stage adaptations are fascinating - the way he keeps things constantly alive and breathing with his camerawork, and the clever use of environment, technique, sound, et al. to comment on what we're seeing in the movie both narratively and thematically. Ugh goddamn he was so good. Dazzling filmmaking.

Can we pls get lushness and painterly ratings on that bad boy?
