Would you have your right hand surgically removed for a billion dollars?

A BILLION? Absolutely yes. I will miss my right hand, especially at night, but a billion dollars can do a lot

A billion dollars is so much. That's real "set up your family and everyone you know for life, improve the world in tangible ways, claw entire communities out of poverty/homelessness, never worry about anything material ever again" money.

A frickin BILLION?!

No one should have a billion dollars and that extends to myself

No one should have a billion dollars because the only real way to get there in the real world is through exploitation and wealth hoarding

I am assuming that in this hypothetical scenario it just materializes out of thin air in exchange for my crummy hand

If the premise of this hypothetical is that I would live in a fantasy world that bears no economic or political similarities to the real one, then I don't know why answering it would be very interesting.

The honest answer for me - real world or fantasy world, with all moral, economic, and political considerations aside - is that I would not put a price on my limbs. There is no amount of money I would accept.

Of course, I say that from a position of relative financial security. If I were destitute, that answer might be different.

I thought it was pretty clear I was playing devil's advocate. A cat among the pigeons, if you will. Implying I would blow 500k on drugs and off myself due to the guilt of having murdered an innocent person should've made it obvious, but you guys are super spesh. So well done to all involved.
