I'm not going to be on Strava for a bit. I fucked up my shoulder the other day and might be electing for surgery in spite of the lengthy rehab. I'll probably be out a few months if I let them cut me.
What kind of surgery?
Probably a bankert repair from what I remember them saying when this first happened in my 20s. Basically, just whatever is necessary to keep my arm from falling out. Luckily, my wife works for an excellent Ortho clinic and if I end up having surgery it will be free.
You're a hockey guy, do you know anyone who has had surgery to correct shoulder instability?
Hot. Humid. Sunny, no clouds. I was super overheated for most of the run and never got up to speed. But I'm proud that I managed 7.5 regardless. Hard to be too mad at myself. At least I got out.
Qualified for the marathon Olympic trials, set a new world record for 50 miles and shattered his own Western States 100 CR by 20 minutes all in 6 months.
Less a mileage thing and more of a coolness factor (I am really still trying to get back into it), I took my morning run over the Brooklyn Bridge and returned back over the manhattan bridge. Came out to 4.5 miles but it’s not a bad run. The main issue is with the Brooklyn Bridge because of the tourist foot traffic.
Something weird is up with my foot. I decided not to risk further injury and did the stationary bike to keep the impact low. Biking is hard when you're not used to doing it. But I'm glad I did some kind of workout today.
