Just starting Nightmare Alley. 20th last movie from 2021 I’ll watch, before moving on to 2022.

rewatch of Lost In Translation.
What an amazing movie. As someone who has been in Japan and loves everything about it, this one is a little more special.

Nightmare Alley started very promising. Well acted, well directed, beautiful scenery, great cast, and I thought the story in the first hour, while not very original, was sincere and interesting. Then it goes full melodrama, with twists. That is probably because the movie is adapted from a 1946 novel. All in all it supported an enjoyable Sunday evening, but I thought the 2h 30m movie was too long, and the plot too contrived, for me to fully be immersed by it.

Loved Last Night In Soho. Really well told, well made, tense and interesting until the end. Fantastic cast.
