Ha ha! Holy fucking shit! I had to google that, b/c that was too insane to be true!E.H. Ruddock wrote:Gaetz as AG
There’s no way he makes it through the confirmation process right? I’ve seen more republicans than democrats today talking about how this is a bad ideaB wrote:Ha ha! Holy fucking shit! I had to google that, b/c that was too insane to be true!E.H. Ruddock wrote:Gaetz as AG
They confirmed 2 accused rapists to the Supreme Court, why wouldn't they put one in the cabinet?E.H. Ruddock wrote:There’s no way he makes it through the confirmation process right? This should probably be getting discussed more. What an absolutely wild demand.wease wrote:The Senate is the chamber of congress that approves cabinet nominations. Trump is demanding that when it’s time to start the new term, they stay in recess so he can recess appoint all his cabinet nominees. This is when the POTUS can simply name his cabinet while the Senate is not in session.
Either way, he’s getting his picks thru.
I don't think AG is a position that falls under this rule, so he wouldn't be able to get in that way. But still a wild premise.4/5 wrote:This should probably be getting discussed more. Is it not? I'm not aware of exceptions to recess appointments, but if that's true it'd make his demand even more perplexing seeing as Gaetz is the one most likely to not be confirmed.E.H.
