This is the direction I'm hoping the conversation veers. I really want to know things like who is playing what. Andrew's style of soloing (live) is right up my alley.

Another aspect to this record that has really stood out the last few listens is having different vocals harmonize instead of it just being Ed. Ed's harmonies are really under-praised, but the lack of them on this record isn't a negative.

did ed mention any of his punk influences in interviews about this album? petty and bruce are pretty clear influences on here, but i'm wondering where some of the punk stuff comes from. its sounds like california type punk. the one song reminded me of the dead kennedys. i dont know X very well but i've heard EV mention them a number of times.

where the fuck did elton john come from? i think he's amazing, but he's not the first person i had teaming up with eddie vedder. i assume he wrote most of the song he's on, it sounds like an elton john song.

i also really like the last song. i know its kinda cheesy to have ed's dad on the album, but knowing the backstory it would almost be a shame if he had his dad's music and never did anything with it. you know the whole story, but it's crazy to think Alive came out over 30 years ago and he just released a song with his dad singing. the song is weird enough to work, i like way it wraps up the whole album.

I get that, and I can easily hear The Pogues, Billy Bragg, Ani DiFranco...But the production puts it squarely in "Warped Tour opening act w/a harmonica" territory for me.
