Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
Yes. We’ve got a decent team, but would be nowhere near this, if our strikers were Sørloth, Strand Larsen (who are both in the World Cup squad) and let’s say Botheim instead of Haaland. Nusa, Schjelderup and Bobb are talented wingers, and Sørloth is a top player in the Spanish league (Atletico Madrid). But Haaland is just a different level. To be fair he takes less part in the overall play than any of the other players mentioned, but he’s a beast in front of goal.

Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
After Spain's first goal today, the celebration included him putting the ball under his shirt and running around. I also see players do this before a throw in. Why is this a thing? Strategy? Performative?

Their wife is pregnant if it happens after a goal.
If it happens for a throw in, they are making sure the ball is dry, for a long throw.

Anders out here just naming characters who live in Jabba’s Palace and pretending they’re real people.Anders wrote: Fri July 10, 2026 9:18 pm Yes. Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
Likely starting eleven for Norway today: Ørjan Nyland - Julian Ryerson, Kristoffer Ajer, Torbjørn Heggem, David Møller Wolfe - Martin Ødegaard, Sander Berge, Patrick Berg - Alexander Sørloth, Erling Braut Haaland, Andreas Schjelderup.
A bit controversial that Antonio Nusa is starting on the bench, as he is a very popular and talented player, that most Norwegians think of as our best winger.

Here’s the 2-0 win for Norway in 1993, with English commentary.

He did have a kid called Marius.
Another commentator took over the mantle, tv commentator Arne Scheie, now retired.
But no Cjørge, no.

Though it remains 0-0 at the ad break, England is all over them.
