Nobody was really entertaining in a John Wick kind of way, and Bob Odenkirk, like always, was terrific. Not much more to say, but I could easily see myself seeing it again soon.

Rewatch of Carlito´s Way.
Damn, what a masterpiece. De Palma is so fucking confident, even cocky, on this masterclass of his craft. Every frame is gorgeous, every camera movement is beautifully done and adds to the storytelling.
Pacino is wonderful. Its such a different performance from his other De Palma collab. The movie works great as a counterpoint to Scarface.
And yes, that argentine legend Jorge Porcel right there.

Kinds of Kindness
Not sure how to even begin gathering my thoughts on this. I think I liked it? It’s definitely a turn from Poor Things. It’s more of a Killing of a Sacred Deer vibe, but sillier, and if it were made into three very bleak, very messed up episodes of the Twilight Zone.
What was it “about”? Who the hell knows. One thing for sure is that it features Jesse Plemons operating at the peak of his powers. He’s putting on a clinic here.

Carlito's Way > Scarface
It’s actually a really tight match, and Scarface is underrated around here.

Maybe tight, and to each their own, of course.
I find Carlito's journey and story more compelling, he's even relatable in a weird way.
You want him to be successful in his escape.
The same way you want De Niro's character in Heat to be able to escape.

yeah, they are very different. Carlito seems the mature and older one. Thats why i might prefer it.

Watched all the Bad Boys movies. The first was a favorite of mine as a kid. I think it holds up well. 2 I saw a long time ago and had no memory of. I rank them 1, 4, 2, 3. Dumb fun. No need for part 5, but there was no need for part 2. I’ll happily watch.

I must have watched the first one. Pretty sure I saw the second one. I don't remember anything about them.

i tried with this one but found it insufferable and boring. Im convinced Lanthimos was pranking the studio when he did this movie.

is the lost city of z worth watching?
im in a months long rabbit hole about the 'discovery'/rape of the amazon (you none of you know about former president Theodore Roosevelts adventures down there! its amazing! everything else about it is horrific)
but this film seems to be the end of the barrell..is it worth it?
