We’re suddenly realizing in real time that wease mispronounces everything.

So, obviously, I work in a specific industry where things are different maybe than others. But I keep having people call over to our box office or even swinging by in person and asking for the names of the people who work here without introducing themselves.

Like, the phone rings, I answer: "Box office."

Person on the phone: "Who is this?"

Or like the guy at my window just now, "Hey, I used to work in box offices, who works here?"

Is it weird that I think that's weird? Like, am I an asshole for being like, "tell me who you first" ? Is this a common thing among other industries? Is it a bygone courtesy? Am I just an old man refusing to adapt to modern communication?

Not at all. Not exactly the same thing, but I had a patient complaint I had to follow up on and this dude kept asking me questions and it sounded like he was being directed by someone on what to ask. And I swear he was recording the conversation. The kicker was when he asked me what my job was. I told him my title and a very general overview of what I’m responsible for and he said “no, I want to know what you spend your day doing. How do you spend every day? What, exactly, do you do every hour you’re at work?” I told him that was, quite frankly, none of his business and I wasn’t telling him that. Then he screamed into the phone, “YOU’LL TELL ME WHEN I SUE YOUR ASS, MOTHERFUCKER!”

My old Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 PC speakers died. Well, the sub did. I loved that Klipsch system but had to keep the bass low regardless as office and all.

I threw on an old 2.1 Altec Lansing system I had around but I kinda hate it, so now I am in the market for a straight up 2.0 system for my PC to replace them.

Any recommends? I am happy to spend a tad more if the quality is good.

Alternate question - thoughts on me just grabbing a small desktop amp and running just the Klipsch Left and Right without the sub? Worth it or dumb? This PC is in my office space so never gets cranked as such, but clarity of tuneage is the most important factor.
