It’s almost like they work from the same story and the same story group and writers are involved.

both were shot nearly two years ago so Mando this week isn’t trying to ape Andor for likes.
Engage the brain lads.

It's all in the edit, dime.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

This is absolute nonsense, B.

It was pretty surprising to me how much the shape of this episode reminded me of the format of a bunch of Andor episodes (action/adventure on the frontier, intrigue in Coruscant). I don't think this was intentionally aping Andor, because I'm sure they were written/developed/shot around the same time, but I wonder if the lack of "pixie dust" was because we felt like we've seen it before. I also think it's the actors and the way they approach the material, the direction, etc. that make the difference--Andor was basically serious as a heart attack the entire time, whereas the doctor here was close to being hammy at times. I think this is an interesting direction for the show to go in (that is, the downfall of the New Republic), as I'd grown tired of the sacred waters and stuff after just two episodes, but I don't think it's clicking just yet.
The direction of this episode was masterful. The literal only difference is Tony Gilroy/Beau Willimon didn't write it.

I adore Favs and think he's doing a great job breathing new life into these old action figures. But his writing has never been on the same level as those guys.

And Favs has voiced several Vizlas so far.

The Pershing betrayal story needed to be edited down to 5 minutes or it need to be broken up with something in the middle.

Who needed 30 minutes of a Mandalorian episode on two nothing characters walking around coruscant.

And they aren't "nothing characters."

Pershing has been a valuable player in this since S1. Expanding the ideas/themes isn't a bad thing. This show is better with less Mando & Grogu, frankly.

I don't think the direction was bad, just different. Writing the same way. No character in Andor is going to say, "Blorsdays, am I right?" or have a droid yell at someone for littering, and that's fine for Andor, and having a goofy thing like that in this show is fine. As I said above, I get tired of the over-serious "This is the way" stuff and would like more humanity.

My most favorite game: for these first three episodes, do we think Pedro Pascal spent any days on set?

This is a pretty silly game at this point since we know he didn't. Pedro only does the voice and the scenes where the helmet is off.

Considering Book of BOba Fett got slammed for giving Mando his own episode.

Pershing gets 30 minutes ?? Did anyone really think he was going to get betrayed in the end.

The start and the end of the episode were the highlights. I think Im falling in love with Bo Katan. Mando didnt see the mythosaur which is interesting.,

IS BO going to find it herself.

Unless there’s a payoff with Pershing getting his mind-wiped later in the story or that the communications major has been working for Gideon this whole time and he’s coming back, then what’s the point?

Think ahead pal.

You’ve been time (years ago) by favreau that we’d see the birth of the first order.
You’re getting that. Like it or not.

But you don’t know what’s ahead in the coming eps either. Keep that much in mind
