The Tigers have always shelled him AND he got us an everyday Shortstop

That's who Kershaw pitches against too, no one is suggesting that's why he pitches well. Peavy is obviously not what he once was and belongs in the NL West, but he isn't completely useless.

But Kershaw doesn't shit the bed when he faces other teams the way Peavy does. That is unless it's October.

Well, he did completely shut them down in October of 2009 when the White Sox came into Detroit and took two of three to knock the Tigers out of first and into a play-in game.

I'm glad my question sparked some baseball chatter. That makes my heart happy.

Peavy had some good starts against the Dodgers. Brewers, Tigers, etc. I don't think anyone is arguing or insinuating Peavy is a front line of the rotation guy. A 3-4 on an NL team? Sure. Peavy makes a lot of sense for the Cubs, Braves, Cards, Pirates, even Giants ( why keep him though?), etc.

Wait, he shut out Detroit twice at the very end of 2009. I think those might have even been his only two starts for the Sox that year after he finally got off the DL. Those starts led most of us Sox fans to (mistakenly) believe acquiring him was a great move. Man, was he nowhere near what we thought he'd be.

Aaron Poreda was in the Rangers pen this year. Got off to a decent start and then down hill after that.
