Last night I watched The Blair Witch for the first time (i know, i know) and tonight I'm watching The Witch.
How many movies have you not seen?
At least 100

Not sure about that. What did you think about The Blair Witch was that your first viewing of Gattaca

The Circle (2020)

Very bad. "Super important movie!" Made by very stupid people who think they are very smart. I did like some of the purposefully cringy parts but most of it is accidental.

Ender's Game

One of those movies where they look back at historical footage, but it's like a movie, with different shots and impossible points of view, etc. That should tell you all you need to know.

IMO Ender's Game is underrated.

Watched Big Trouble in Little China with the whole family and most of us really liked it.

I should have known better, but I didn’t realize how “John Carpentery” it was. Fun stuff.

That's a 5 star classic.

The only disturbing elements came from sound design and editing, doing a quick cut to a jarring image and going from quiet to the standard issue super loud "eeeeeee!" scratchy string music at the same time. Old tricks. It's kind of amazing that they took that premise and made a movie that is no more disturbing than an X Files episode. You'll probably find yourself suspecting the "shocking" explanation not even halfway through, and when it comes it's delivered in a clunky expository monologue. It just feels like a Law and Order: SVU viewer's idea of a disturbing serial killer movie.

Agreed. I really wanted to like it, but was ultimately disappointed.

Yeah just a very shallow movie. Seemed like it had a lot to say, but didn't say much at all. Just made me want to watch Silence of the Lambs again.
