How about the Panthers begging for public money while netting a $112 million profit over two years?

I'm pretty sure that the Falcons have a similar profit.

The Panthers, as expected, just cut Chris Gamble. He'd be a guy that I'd like the Broncos to get for the right price if Fox still has good memories from their days together in Charlotte.

How would you feel if the Broncos went after Steven Jackson?

I wish that they had gone after him in 2004.
But seriously, if they can get him on the cheap, it wouldn't hurt. The FA RB that's #1 on my list, though, is Shonn Greene.

Really? Because of Jackson's age/injuries?

The Broncos want a power-style RB that doesn't necessarily have to be the #1 guy. They've got Hillman and Moreno for the speed/quickness element, and they must be worried that McGahee could give out at any moment. Jackson does have a lot of miles on him, and if he's going to ask for too much in free agency, that may not be wise. That's why I'd like the younger Greene to fill that hole, even if he may be more one-dimensional.

Green might not be an overly versatile RB, but i think he is pretty darn good at what he does, and if he can play with any sort of a real QB then he will do so much better, im sure no one worried about Sanchez throwing to beat them so they constantly tried to stop the running game.

Shonn Greene is pretty terrible IMO. I'd much rather have Jackson.

This might be true, but I've never been impressed by Greene. I feel like he's a dime a dozen guy.

Back to back 1,000 yard seasons is terrible? I realize his YPC isn't great, but I still wouldn't call it terrible. Plus, he had to deal with the abomination that was the Jets' passing game.
Maybe he is a dime a dozen guy, but like I said, I don't think the Broncos need much more than that to add in their RB stable.

Greene ranked 23rd in DYAR and 24th in DVOA per FO's stats; Jackson was 10th and 11th. Furthermore, while Jackson had similar receiving rankings (11th and 14th), Greene's were terrible (45th and 46th, out of 47 players). The Jets line also ranked as the 5th best running line while STL's came in at 14th.
So pretty much every number besides age and price (which are undoubtedly important) is in favor of Jackson as the much better player.

Looking at that list, my pick for the Broncos would be Chris Ivory (who I actually love), Jackson or Danny Woodhead, all of which would be a good fit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with Jackson if it works out. I just don't see the Broncos devoting enough money to get the best FA running back out there. Ivory would also be fine. I don't think Woodhead's the type of RB that they're looking for. I'm actually surprised NE may let him walk, even with Ridley and Vereen clearly the guys there now.

The Lions are cheating on me. They’re going to the club every damn night and staying out late night, trying to come back home to Daddy. But it’s all right.

I don't think Delmas fully understands how teams handle free agency and the salary cap.

He's forgetting that "daddy" has been impotent for the past three years.

I thought tonight might be interesting after midnight, maybe hear about a few deals that were in place and just waiting to be signed, then i saw this
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/jason ... ing-window
And it seems like teams might not know what they are allowed to talk about, and might be scared to negotiate.
I hope not

Doing the math on the Redskins' salary cap, I'm going to make a "bold" prediction and say that DeAngelo Hall gets cut tomorrow.

Well, strike that, he just retired--and on his 30th birthday, at that.
