It looks like the peeled off edge of that photo on the menu is part of the graphic. Looks like an amazing eatery, ruddo.

After a lot of trial and error, I have now found one good Indian place, one good Mexican place, and one good BBQ place. By and large, the food around here is still the absolute worst of anywhere I’ve ever been, but these spots are at least palliative.

Had some spinach and ricotta dumplings and a bottle of cab franc at this Italian place just a short walk away.
The dining room looked a little stuffy and old school with candles and white linen table tops, but the bar was very inviting and unassuming. I felt comfortable in t-shirt and shorts at the bar thanks to the friendly bartender.
It’s been open 18 years. I’ve lived in this zip code for probably 14 of those years. What took me so long?

PS this is hilarious, i had forgotten about all these 'hot spots'. talk about buzz word central in one sentence
That characterization took on yet another layer when the restaurateur was sued by the Ace Hotel for misrepresenting earnings at the Breslin and the John Dory Oyster Bar.

I’m looking for a very specific type of neighborhood eatery in the Brooklyn area.
Must haves:
1. Cozy interior. Rustic, almost Southern. Maybe some patina’d chairs or distressed wood cabinets.
2. French or country Italian heavy menu
3. Menu that balances wine and classic cocktails easily
4. Stereo hooked up to vinyl turntable a plus
5. The word “daughter” in the name a plus
Examples of what I’m looking for:

We've got a place here called "Burger IM" that I've never been to for the same reason.
