And the whole playing-the-Ocarina mechanic is gay. It ruins much of the experience.

I think people kinda overstate the “aging poorly” thing with old games. They’re just different.

Round 5: World of Warcraft (PC). The best MMO ever made. Accessible yet deep. Can level solo or group. Quests made sense. Worth the time investment and monthly fee. I assume this game has generated the most revenue all time, by far.

Round 6: Super Mario Bros. (NES). Where it all started for me. I played it for the first time at a cousin's house. Jumping the first pit was a challenge. When I finally made it, I sprinted to tell my mom. When I finally beat 1-1, I sprinted to tell my mom. I got NES with SMB, Gyromite and Duck Hunt that Christmas. The rest is history.

This coming from the guy who picked a game that isn't out yet as one of the top video games of all time

Alright, I know the rule is HD remasters are supposed to be votes for the original game instead, but hear me out on this. The common consensus amongst the ICO fanbase (this game, ICO and The Last Guardian) is that the 2018 PS4 version is the definitive version of this game.

This game is visually fucking astonishing. This is hands down, the best looking game I’ve played in my entire life. Shadow of the Colossus carries a dark, lonesome vibe as you wander through a beautiful abandoned landscape. It’s a bit like a more mature, less cartoon-ish Zelda game (and this game definitely influenced the more recent Zelda games). And the vague, open ended story and conclusion is one of a kind.

If this has to be a vote for the original, so be it, but I will argue why the 2018 HD PS4 version is the one I want included if I have to.
Considering this version is completely rebuilt from the ground up not using a single line of code from the original I will allow it. What do others think?
Absolutely not.

Do you feel the same about other old technologies? Like the original television models? Cause it's basically the same concept.

Man, I really thought SMB was gone. I would have taken that rounds ago!

Excellent get, CT.

It's yet to be used mechanics are flawless because they are newer.

Unrelated. As I mentioned before, it is easy to predict it will be one of the best games of all time and people will have a chance to play it a bit, hopefully, by the time voting starts. There will be no playing gay musical instruments or primitive polygonal graphics in RDR2.

*Its

No, they are not flawless. And if they were, that wouldn't be why. The studios have accomplished great things with GTA V, and they will have taken everything to the next level in RDR2.

I would have drafted Resident Evil 4 on Wii rounds earlier if exceptions to the rule could have been made. It's by far the best version of RE4 and it's by far the best RE. No rule changes in Round 5. No. No. No.

Games are more than just tech. A more apt comparison would be to music or movies, in which case my answer would be yes. It’s art created under the technological constraints of its time.

For me, though, some games feel more outdated than others. For example, Mario 3 has aged very well. Nothing is problematic about it. Ocarina of Time tries to do too much, restrained by the technology available.

If anything, I think Ocarina’s atmosphere is enhanced by its technological limitations.

Ugh. It is so ugly. The grass is painted onto the ground most of the time. And hands are blocks. etc etc
