Fontaines are really fucken good

I am a little surprised at not seeing Brian Fallon's Local Honey showing up anywhere. There hasn't been another album this year that makes me think the artist is speaking to me as this one. Very pure and human.

I put off listening to the new Protomartyr because these days I haven't been in the mood for super dark post punk music but yeah it's fantastic, great band

Kathleen Edwards' return has me feeling giddy as a schoolboy.

Really enjoying this new-ish album from Gregoire Maret, Romain Collin, and Bill Frisell -- recommended to me because of my fondness for Frisell, though he is very much in a sideman role. I don't think I've ever listened to an album where the primary soloist is a harmonica player, but this is really nice -- a really full-bodied sound, not overly flashy (no John Popper wailing here), and deeply evocative. Not unlike Frisell's own forays into American roots music, it's maybe a little on the pleasant side, but I've got room for a little of this sort of thing in my life. This is them covering Bon Iver's "Re: Stacks":

Glad you like it! It gets a bit samey, but it's stakes out a cool space if you're good with lingering there for a while

I listen to all of them from beginning to end. If they grab me, I usually listen again within a day or so. The best ones I listen to multiple times. I've heard each of those top ten albums, for example at least five times each. Maybe more.

Not at all. If it did, I wouldn't do it. All this extra time at home has been great for listening to music. This kind of consumption isn't normal for me, typically.
